Basic Combat Training Museum

Admission to the US Army Basic Combat Training Museum is FREE.
The museum is open Monday – Friday, 9AM – 4PM. On Family Day, in order to accommodate the friends and family members of basic combat training graduates, the museum hours are extended 9AM – 6PM.
The museum is closed on weekends and federal holidays, including New Year’s Day (Jan 1), Martin Luther King’s birthday (Jan 17), Washington’s birthday (Feb 21), Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day, Columbus Day (Oct 10), Veterans Day (Nov 11), Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
Visitors to Fort Jackson need a military ID, or they need to be sponsored by a military ID card holder. All adults will need a photo ID, and if you are driving onto base, you will need proof of car insurance.
If entering the base from Gate 2 at Forest Drive, to get to the museum, visitors turn right at the second light onto Jackson Blvd. After 0.6 miles, the museum is located on the left, across the street from Post Headquarters. Parking is located in front of the museum and behind the museum’s back lot of outdoor exhibits.
If entering the base from Gate 1 at Jackson Blvd, visitors should take the 3rd exit off the traffic circle onto Jackson Blvd. After 1.2 miles, the museum is located on the right, across the street from Post Headquarters. Parking is located in front of the museum and behind the museum’s back lot of outdoor exhibits.

Group Visits and Tours
The Basic Combat Training Museum welcomes all types of groups, both military and civilian. The exhibits are designed to be self-guided, but for groups larger than 20 individuals, we appreciate notice beforehand.

The museum facilities are available for special events, with prior approval. The museum features an executive conference room that will seat up to 11 individuals, and a classroom that will seat up to 50 participants.
