3RD BATTALION 39TH INFANTRY COMMAND LEADERS:

Lieutenant Colonel Chuck Slagle CSM 3-39 IN BN

Soldiers in training are very busy. They are not allowed to have visitors during the basic training cycle except on Family Day during graduation week. This is usually on the day prior to graduation. When a Soldier first arrives at Fort Jackson for Basic Combat Training they are assigned to the 120th Adjutant General Battalion (Reception) where they complete their in processing. On average, a Soldier will stay there for 7 to 10 days before being assigned to a BCT unit. If you have not heard from your Soldier within 72 hours, you can call the Reception Battalion @ 803-751-7713 for assistance in determining their location.  Fort Jackson Operator number is 803-751-7511; you are required to have your soldier’s full name and social security number to identify them.
